We are proud to announce the publication of nSearch Global's inaugural FY2024 Sustainability Report — delivered through Enterprise Singapore's SME Sustainability Reporting Programme (SME SRP), with Ernst & Young LLP (EY) appointed as our programme partner.
This is not simply a report we commissioned. It is the outcome of a structured, government co-funded programme that placed nSearch Global alongside Singapore's most forward-looking SMEs in building the foundations of credible, GRI-aligned sustainability disclosure.
Selected for Enterprise Singapore's SME SRP
The SME Sustainability Reporting Programme (SME SRP) is an Enterprise Singapore initiative designed to help Singapore SMEs produce their first sustainability report — co-funding the cost of engaging an approved programme partner to deliver a structured reporting process.
nSearch Global was selected as a participant in this programme — a recognition in itself that we meet the governance, eligibility, and operational standards Enterprise Singapore requires of participating enterprises. The programme is open to Singapore-registered businesses committed to producing a first-ever sustainability report aligned to internationally recognised standards.
Being part of the SME SRP places nSearch Global within a curated group of Singapore enterprises that Enterprise Singapore has identified as ready to lead on sustainability — companies that are not just growing, but growing responsibly.
EY Appointed as Our Programme Partner
Under the SME SRP, Enterprise Singapore appoints approved programme partners to deliver the sustainability reporting engagement. For nSearch Global, that partner was Ernst & Young LLP — specifically EY's Climate Change and Sustainability Services practice, led by Partner Praveen Tekchandani.
EY delivered a 24-week structured programme across four workstreams:
Workstream 1 — Reporting Standards Selection (Weeks 2–5): Training on sustainability reporting processes and guidance on adopting GRI Standards 2021 as our primary reporting framework
Workstream 2 — Materiality Assessment (Weeks 6–10): A rigorous process to identify the ESG topics most material to nSearch Global's business model and stakeholders, through desktop research, industry benchmarking, and structured stakeholder engagement surveys
Workstream 3 — Data Templates and Collation (Weeks 10–14): Design and delivery of data collection templates tailored to our operations, ensuring the right metrics were captured consistently across our business units
Workstream 4 — Report Development (Weeks 15–24): Full development of the sustainability report including disclosure mapping against GRI Standards, report drafting, and a closing meeting with high-level recommendations for our next reporting cycle
This was not a template exercise. EY brought the discipline of a global professional services firm — the same practice that advises listed companies and government bodies on climate risk — to bear on nSearch Global's first sustainability disclosure.
Why This Matters for Our Clients and Partners
For enterprise clients and government procurement teams evaluating technology and staffing partners, sustainability posture is an increasingly active criterion. The combination of Enterprise Singapore selection and EY delivery provides two independent quality signals:
Enterprise Singapore — a government statutory board — assessed and co-funded our participation, validating that nSearch Global meets the standard of a responsible, forward-looking Singapore enterprise
EY's Climate Change and Sustainability Services — a globally recognised practice — structured and delivered our reporting process to professional standards, ensuring our disclosures are rigorous and internationally comparable
Together, this means our FY2024 Sustainability Report is not self-declared. It is the output of a structured, externally delivered programme, co-funded by the Singapore government.
FY2024 Performance: What We Disclosed
Our report covers four material pillars identified through EY's materiality assessment process:
🌱 Environment — Energy & Resource Efficiency
Despite returning to full office operations post-COVID, we achieved a 6% year-on-year reduction in office electricity consumption through energy-rated equipment procurement, cloud workload optimisation, and employee campaigns including "Switch Off at 6" and "Print Smart". Idle server energy consumption fell by 10% even as transaction volumes grew. All aligned to the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
🤝 People & Well-being
Our hybrid work policy delivered measurable results: 92% of employees reported improved work-life balance and voluntary turnover declined by 12%. Employee engagement reached 87%. Training hours per employee increased by 20% versus FY2023, with all employees completing programmes including GovTech's STACK Developer Conference 2024 and NUS-ISS ICT Assessment Certifications.
⚖️ Governance & Ethics
100% of employees and contract staff completed Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption (ABAC) and Conflict-of-Interest training. Post-training assessments averaged over 90% understanding. Zero confirmed bribery or corruption cases. Zero substantiated data-privacy breaches. 94% of employees expressed confidence in our non-retaliation commitment — an 8% improvement year-on-year.
🌍 Inclusive Economic Growth
We delivered 14 SME digitalisation projects across the region, contributing directly to Enterprise Singapore's goal of broadening digital participation. Client satisfaction averaged over 90%. Repeat engagement rose to 65%. Local hiring increased by 25%. Supplier payment on-time performance reached 100%, up from 87% in FY2023.
Our ESG Governance Structure
One of EY's key contributions was helping us formalise our ESG governance architecture. Sustainability at nSearch Global is embedded across four Executive Board-reporting committees:
Finance & Audit Committee — financial controls, statutory compliance, external audits
Ethics & Governance Committee — Code of Conduct, anti-corruption, data protection
HR & Well-Being Committee — fair employment, diversity, human rights compliance
Sustainability & Risk Committee — ESG integration, carbon targets, Singapore Green Plan 2030 alignment
Each committee reports quarterly to the Executive Board — ensuring sustainability receives the same strategic attention as financial and operational performance.
What Comes Next
The SME SRP engagement has given us more than a report. It has given us a framework, a governance architecture, and a baseline against which every future year will be measured. From here:
Annual sustainability reports — subsequent reports to be released mid-year for the prior financial year
Expanding ESG data collection to Malaysia, Thailand, and UAE operations
Pursuing external assurance as our reporting process matures
Continued alignment with Singapore's national sustainability agenda and Enterprise Singapore's enterprise development goals
Sustainability is not a destination. Publishing this report — through a programme that holds us to a government and EY-validated standard — is how we demonstrate we are serious about the journey.
